Dole Contracting is an institutional and general contractor based in Woodbridge, Ontario. The company is recognized for its organized approach, steady project leadership, and dedication to delivering work that meets established standards, timelines, and client expectations.

Over the years, Dole Contracting has built a reputation based on trust, precision, and accountability. In this interview, the owner of the company shares insights into Dole Contracting’s construction process, values, and what sets the company apart.

_______________

Q: How did Dole Contracting get started?

Dole Contracting: Dole Contracting came about after I spent several years working in construction and gaining practical experience working on different types of projects. During that time, I saw the importance of organization, follow-through, and communication to the success of any build. I wanted to start a company that focused on those fundamentals instead of looking for ways to cut corners. The goal from the start was to build long-term relationships rather than chase short-term wins. Over time, that method helped the company grow naturally through referrals and repeat work.

Q: What type of projects does Dole Contracting focus on?

Dole Contracting: Most of our work is in institutional and general contracting projects. These projects require careful coordination and attention to detail, and things like schedules, budgets, and quality standards need to be managed well. Our work often involves collaborating with consultants, inspectors, and multiple trades simultaneously. Because of that, effective project planning and communication are a big part of how we operate. We take on projects where we know our experience and structure can add real value.

Q: What values guide how you run your company?

Dole Contracting: Integrity is the foundation of how we operate for every project. That means being honest about timelines, costs, and challenges from the beginning instead of making promises that are hard to keep. We also prioritize professionalism, both on-site and in our communication with clients and partners. Respect for everyone involved in a project is critical, from the client to the labourers working on-site. Those values help create more efficient projects and stronger working relationships.

Q: What makes Dole Contracting different from other contractors?

Dole Contracting: All team members are involved in every stage of every project. I stay connected to the work and make sure problems are solved early before they turn into bigger issues. We take a practical and organized approach and don’t overcomplicate things. Clients often appreciate that we are honest and consistent in how we manage projects. That reliability builds trust and helps projects move forward with fewer surprises.

Q: What does success look like for you and your company?

Dole Contracting: Customer happiness at the end of a project is what defines our success. We want clients to feel heard, supported, and confident throughout the whole project and not just when the work is done. We want people to feel comfortable asking questions and raising concerns, knowing they will get honest answers. I believe a project is successful when the client feels the experience was organized, fair, and low-stress. When customers are happy enough to work with us again or recommend us to others, that is the strongest measure of success for our company.
